I’ve neglected to mention anything about Black History Month. Though we should take the time to learn about the history of people of African descent more than just one month out of the year (which just happens to be the shortest), I think it’s still important to highlight that rich history this time of year.
You learn something new everyday. So here’s a few inventions I recently discovered were created by Black people.
Air Conditioning Unit: Frederick M. Jones; July 12, 1949
Bicycle Frame: L.R. Johnson; October 10, 1899
Cellular Phone: Henry T. Sampson; July 6, 1971
Clothes Dryer: G. T. Sampson; June 6, 1862
