A pic I snapped on my walk home from work
I know it’s been awhile since I’ve posted a life update. A few new things…
1. I got a raise! Luckily, I’ve come to realize that it does not mean that I can spend more on clothing/accessories. What it DOES mean is that I can save more for my 2013 wedding.
Plot: On the night of the discovery of a duplicate planet in the solar system, a young student headed for MIT and an accomplished composer cross paths in a tragic accident.
I’ll be the first to admit that I did not initially get into the Twilight craze. I am not a diehard Twilight fan. My thinking was that it was just like the Harry Potter movies (which I also did not get into) except with vampires. I didn’t want to jump on the bandwagon because everyone else was doing it. I didn’t want to be a follower, I wanted to rebel. Plus I thought the teenage vampire concept was lame. I’ll also be the first to admit that I was wrong. Continue reading
If you haven’t had time to see the latest released films, but have all the time in the world now, then I think you’ll find this list pretty handy! I’ve sifted through the gems and duds for you! I’ve even got a list of what you should pass on watching. So if you’re looking for a good film for your next movie night, you may want to bookmark this!
Plot: A man awakens from a coma after a car accident in Berlin only to find that his identity has been stolen and no one believes him, not even his wife. To prove his identity, he Continue reading
Plot: A perfect example of how you take one of Hollywood’s favorite storylines and bring something new to keep the audience guessing. Based on a true story, this film is Continue reading
I finally had the chance to see Burlesque (although very late) and it was pretty much what I thought it would be… Continue reading
Cast: Natalie Portman is already a very talented actress in my book, and honestly, one of my favorite actresses. I found out that she actually took the time to become trained in ballet for this role and I admire her dedication. Her performance didn’t disappoint me. I’m not a big fan of Mila Kunis, but I admit that she did a stellar job too. Vincent Cassel was a good choice for the film as well. And I was pleasantly surprised to see Winona Ryder who’s been making casual appearances in blockbusters lately (Star Trek anyone?)
Cinematography: Some of the camera shots and angles were just enough to give you a chill and make you anxious to know what’s going to happen next.
Overall: Captivates you until the very end! This film received such high praises from critics and I have to agree it deserved every last one of them. Though I must warn you, it may be difficult to grasp the meaning behind it all until you get to the end. Much deeper meaning than I expected. This wasn’t just the typical thriller. Very unique in presentation.
Criticism: I still had some unanswered questions once I finished watching (what’s the deal with the mother’s cake tantrum?), but luckily most of the answers could be found on the trusty imdb.com (discussion boards are key to a lot of insightful background info and theories).
Final Score: ***** 5 stars
